COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test Expiration Extension

If you have a COVID-19 home antigen test that is past its expiration date, you may still be able to use it. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health supports the California Department of Public Health’s endorsement of the emergency use of COVID-19 antigen self-tests beyond their expiration date.

At-home test kits

At-home rapid antigen tests are provided as a resource for students and staff in line with guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the Los Angeles Department of Public Health. Test kits are made available at each school site as supply allows.

When returning from school breaks, tests kits may be distributed to students and staff to undergo testing for COVID-19 prior to arriving to school.
